Swordy, can you help get a new business idea off the ground? The idea is to build an online community around a product, or series of products, where the online community design the actual product - create a feedback loop where the product is continually developed and improved according to user feedback. Users get the product they want, while I get customers ready and waiting to buy the product before it is even created. The product will be a virtual machine image users launch in Microsoft Azure to access the deep web securely, where they can hide their identities, buy and sell without any restrictions, hide their porn collections, or share their porn collections absolutely anonymously, to basically have an online life beyond the reach of NSA snoopers. My problem is that nobody likes to be first at the party. The community forum is empty. Can you help me get the ball rolling, get this business idea started with some comments in the forum? If you can make some product recommendations that would be great - ask the community questions, like "is Tor really anonymous, are there better onion router products which could be included in the virtual machine product?" I'm thinking the product, by the time the first version is ready for launch, will be like a Swiss Army Knife collection of deep web tools. Here is the project home page: http://nox.world

I'm not much of a techie. Most of the things you talk about might as well be in Klingon. I really don't care who intercepts my communications. I'm not an anarchist.

millions of people are unhappy about NSA snoopers snooping on them. I think the majority of customers will be ordinary people simply wanting basic privacy. Windows have curtains for a reason, people don't want strangers peering into their private bedroom life.

When I post on left wing sites, I sometimes use a VPN that spoofs my IP. That's about all the anonymity I need.

yes please, that's exactly the kind of conversation I need people to start in the nox.world forum I linked to directly a few posts above - is the VPN program free and open source? Is it easy to configure and easy to use? How reliable or trustworthy is the vendor? etc. I shall install a load of VPN softwares from different vendors onto the cloud virtual machine product. If people like you and Ken would make suggestions and start conversations on how posting on leftwing/rightwing websites anonymously could be a more user friendly experience I would be very pleased, I would owe you a favour.

There are a lot of VPN services out there. Some are free, but the best ones have a nominal monthly charge. I use Golden Frog's VyperVPN's "OpenVPN" which is one of the strongest encryptions. VyperVPN starts at $10 a month. Here's a link to a review: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2385182,00.asp VyperVPN allows users to spoof their IPs to countries all over the world or just in the U.S. I like the VyperVPN because I see no appreciable loss of speed while using it. The VyperVPN dashboard will show you the current speeds of the various servers so you can pick the fastest one, if you wish. They are all pretty fast, so I just pick whatever country I want to pretend to be in while posting. I've also seen a thumb drive VPN that sells for about $20. You plug it in and log onto it.

I registered a couple of new domains, incloudnito will be the product name, nox is a cool name but would need an expensive marketing campaign, whereas incloudnito speaks for itself as a product description. Just got back from a weekend in Hong Kong, flew out Thursday, arrived late Friday night, did business Saturday, rested Sunday, flew back yesterday. I should have asked if you wanted anything taken care of there, but the whole trip was so last minute and rushed I didn't get time to think. Loved the Chinese, they're easier to do business with than Americans, they really appreciate the social side of business and will do deals while drinking beer.

I have several Chinese "friends" over the email. My impression is that they are wonderful, friendly people. I've been friends with one guy for 8 years now. We send photos of our families and update each other on what we're up to. My online business took a huge hit this month when Google stopped put sites on page #1 that are not "mobile device friendly." Mine was not. I have an Indian web designer working to redo the site and make if mobile friendly, but in the meantime, I'm losing thousands.

You know the NSA, FBI, and CIA are all now watching this site because of this thread.

I suspect that I've been on one or more government "lists" for years. I am pro-Constitution and anti-big central government and I don't care who knows it. Janet Incompetano would have suspected the authors of the Constitution of being potential terrorists.
