Hey, everyone!!!

I used to post here probably 11-12 years ago as "Beowulf84" & "TheOneManMafia" when I was a confused 15-16 year old kid, if anyone remembers me. I was looking at Rage Against the Machine lyrics in one of their albums and they had a "Get Informed, Get Involved" section with the Axis of Justice web address listed in the CD booklet. I entered that cesspool of a messageboard with no knowledge of politics or having any opinions of my own. After months of reading articles, attempting to spark debate, and struggling to learn in that warzone, I moved over to the NFBB. The NFBB was where the people on AoJ who actually tried to talk politics and current events, did so without resorting to petty insults and trolling. I came out of that experience an extremely naive, self-righteous, idealistic neoconservative. I thought I knew how to fix the world and thought I was "intelligent" because I followed current events and politics, when in reality, I was just a dumb kid who read a few Ann Coulter books and watched Fox News daily. I even did a report on the two message boards for one of my classes and described Axis of Justice as being run by "two anti-Americans musicians." hahaha

Anyway, I'm now a 28 year old, material handling engineer for a large automaker. I'm studying for the GMAT so I can go back to school next year for my MBA and possibly a Masters in Industrial Engineering as well, depending on which school I get into. Politically, I'm no longer a rampant neoconservative, but am probably close to a 90% Libertarian who has been completely apathetic with regards to politics. That said, I'm finding that I've been wanting to get into some lively debates on Reddit lately, but unless most of the subreddit agrees with you, you'll be downvoted into obscurity and your opinion will be ignored. I want to have some intelligent discussions in a place with respectful people, and hopefully the NFBB is still that place I remember it being.

[welcome-signboard-smiley-emoticon] back!  Yes, I certainly remember you....and we all missed you when you left. I hope you'll stick around now.

I'm glad to see that you've had so much success in your career and that you are still pursuing advancement.  That's what the American Dream is all about!

I'm probably 50% libertarian and 50% conservative.  There are no politicians with whom I agree 100%.  All I know is that I agree with Democrats about .01% of the time.  [wink]

Welcome! You sound like an interesting young man of character and hard work.

I'm getting old and starting to tire of trying to convince leftists, radicals, and "progressives" of the errors of their beliefs and just make short, possibly trite comments and let it go.

Anyway, we're glad you're here!

We moved to our own site after a left wing bitch on the Yuku site violated Yuku's own rules to get the board shut down.  That was a shame, since we had a long run with Yuku and originally moved THERE because the server had only a few reasonable rules, allowed profanity in posts, etc.

This Yuku moderator bitch banned our admins and made it impossible to continue the NFBB on Yuku.

So, after much research and emailing server admins, we settled here.  We now have a dedicated URL (and a shorter URL to make it easier to log in, http://www.nfbb.org).  The rules here are exactly the same as they were when we were hosted at EZBoards/Yuku.

The only difference you may notice is that the political forums are now used as an "aggregator" of articles from other sources. One such informative thread has over 10,000 unique views.  Of course, members can still start their own threads on any of the forums.

Also, since we have to pay to be on this server, the Sex Forum has a nominal fee for access to help defray the cost of the board.  We're trying to avoid adding advertising since no one really likes that. Currently, I'm picking up the tab.

We don't have the numbers of members that we had on Yuku.  Hopefully, that will improve.

Welcome back. I'm not really sure the conversation always remains intelligent and respectful. I guess that all depends on your perspective.

I dunno, Piney, I can't think of but a couple of threads that have ever deteriorated into disrespect.  And I'm usually on the receiving end of such comments. [mad]

About time that both of you got your asses back here!  You contributed greatly to the board when it was on Yuku....and we need your insights here, too.

Where did you go? I hope we weren't merely a one-night stand.  [frown]
